Soul, our national b-boy, is the Human Resources Manager. An iron fist in a velvet glove, but a little more velvet than iron. In fact, he is the ultimate team player. He ensures that the customer experience is the best possible on site. Apart from that, he loves microbreweries and spends his day mumblinbg old youtube memes… don’t get him started…
“Ou est-ce qu’il est le p’tit buuum? Y m’ont barré l’chemin, avec leu’ p’tit chaaaaar grris… J’ai l’doua.”
Alright, too late.
Ève wears many hats: she coordinates events and is also the service manager. She has long been responsible for communications as well. Everything she does, she does it well. We tell ourselves that this is why all thedepartments are fighting over her. She brings a little funky edge everywhere she goes. A refreshing authenticity, that’s what Eve represents. Besides, she bought a bus (a real bus!) to convert it into a house. Pretty rad.
Dave is the Maintenance Manager. He has a rather mysterious aura. How to describe him? Stealthy? Lik… he’s going to install 200 feet of ductwork in the ceiling of your gym, but you’ll never notice him. If it’s Dave doing it, you can be damn sure it’s going to be done right. For Dave, actions speak louder than words. He is way too humble to say it himself, but a guy like that in your team is precious.
Our first employee ever, Mathieu is our Marketing Manager. He may seem underdog, but he’s everywhere… behind the camera making our beautiful videos, in the woods brushing the first ascents of your favorite boulders (yes, he’s an OG from the Laurentians) or on his bike clearing dream gaps. His graphic design work is as precise as Dolph Lundgren’s hair in Rocky IV. A scotch in hand, watch your abs because it will make you (cry)-laugh all evening.
Co-owner, Cloé is also the Marketing Director. Basically, she tells Mathieu what to do and then Mathieu does what he wants anyway. Kidding! (No, not kidding). Her background in styling and her uncompromising sense of aesthetics allow her to bring a unique vision to the Bloc Shop brand image and to the general management of the company.
She knows where she is going. If you hesitate, get on board with Cloé and she’ll take you to the right place. And the ride is going to be fun.
Service Director, Michel is also one of the four partners. Former owner of the first natural wine restaurant in Montreal, his unique experience brings a particular edge to all his projects. One thing is certain, Michel makes sure that everyone is always well received. Both at home and at Bloc Shop, he will make you feel at home. And when Mich offers you a drink, you can be sure he’ll take you somewhere else.
Fred is co-owner and Technical Director. Ambitious. Passionate. Intense. Three words that describe his drive accurately. For as long as we can remember, Fred has been pushing climbing into new spheres, whether in terms of routesetting, or our understanding of what a modern climbing center is. Fun fact, his office is under a staircase (Harry Potter style). Anyway, Fred is never at his desk.
Guillaume is the store manager. He ensures that everything goes smoothly on the store/online store side. He places the orders, he takes care of the inventory, he finds the best products, he proposes concepts, he manages his team, among other things. Guillaume never stops. When he’s not at work, he spends time on his turf up north with his bow. His youthful look camouflages his experience, but when he pulls out an 80s reference, you know he’s at least 10 years older than you thought.
A skilled technician in everything he undertakes, Nicolas is the Coaching Manager. Being of a rather discreet nature, he often tends to go under the radar. He’s patiently waiting for you with a joke that will kill you when you least expect it. Stay on your guard. Without even telling you anything, Nico will quickly remind you what an effective climber is. A slab? A steep? A dyno? You better be on your A game if you want to do better than him. Nico is always on his A game.
Valérie, manager of the Hochelaga gym, is a true professional. She’s full of energy and always smiling, creating a great atmosphere for her team. Outside of work, she loves composing and singing, adding a creative touch to her daily life. Valérie perfectly combines dynamism and passion, making her an inspiring and authentic leader.
Camille, manager at Chabanel, is a real go-getter. For as long as anyone can remember, she’s been climbing anything she can. Nothing scares her. If she’s not climbing, she’s probably walking on her hands. She’ll be on her feet to serve you a coffee, but not for too long.
