Technical Director

FRED

Fred is co-owner and Technical Director. Ambitious. Passionate. Intense. Three words that aptly describe the drive he’s known for. For as long as we can remember, Fred has been pushing climbing into new spheres, whether in terms of routesetting, or our conception of what a modern climbing center is. Fun fact, his office is below a staircase (Harry Potter style). Anyway, Fred is never at his desk.

Financial Director

Herman

Don’t let the serious face fool you — Herman’s got game. He is our Financial Director. Whether he’s breaking down a balance sheet or crushing a workout, he does it with quiet precision and zero drama. He’s the kind of guy who can smell a spreadsheet error from across the room, and somehow still has energy left to hit the gym after. A numbers guy through and through, but always with a twist. No one crunches numbers like Herman. No one.

Mile-Ex Manager

Valérie

Valérie, manager of the Mile-Ex gym, is a true professional. She’s full of energy and always smiling, creating a great atmosphere for her team. Outside of work, she loves composing and singing, adding a creative touch to her daily life. Valérie perfectly combines dynamism and passion, making her an inspiring and authentic leader.

Chabanel Manager

Marion

Part time violinist, canoe camping guide when the city gets too loud, and certified expert in laugh attacks that go off the rails. She’s a puzzle addict who crushes 1000 piece sets for fun. She runs Chabanel the same way, she sees the chaos, she sorts it, she snaps the pieces together, and somehow it always works, even when it absolutely shouldn’t.

Executive Director

Cloé

Co-owner, Cloé is also the General Manager. Her background in styling and her uncompromising sense of aesthetics enable her to bring a unique vision to the Bloc Shop brand image and general direction.
She knows where she’s going. If you’re hesitating, get on board with Cloé and she’ll take you to the right place. And the ride will be fun.

Marketing Director

Mathieu

Our first employee ever, Mathieu is our Marketing Director. He may look like an underdog, but he’s everywhere… behind the camera making our beautiful videos, in the woods brushing first ascents on your favorite boulders (yes, he’s a Laurentian OG) or on his bike clearing dream gaps. His graphic work is as precise as Dolph Lundgren’s hair in Rocky IV. With a scotch in hand, watch your abs, because he’ll have you (crying)-laughing all night long.

Human Resources Director

Soul Step

Soul, our national b-boy, is the Director of Human Resources. An iron fist in a velvet glove, with a bit more velvet than iron. Honestly, he’s the ultimate team player. He makes sure the on-site customer experience is always top-notch.

He’s into craft beer and quotes YouTube videos so old they might qualify as historical documents. Proceed with caution.

Coaching Manager

Nicolas

A fine technician in everything he does, Nicolas is a Coaching Manager. Being rather discreet by nature, he often tends to fly under the radar. He’ll be waiting patiently in the corner with a joke that’ll kill you when you least expect it. Stay on your guard. Without even telling you anything, Nico will quickly remind you what an effective climber is. Slab? A cant? A dyno? You’d better be on your A game if you want to do better than him. Nico is always on his A game.

Store Manager

Guillaume

Guillaume makes sure that everything runs smoothly on the shop/online side. He places orders, takes care of inventory, finds the best products, proposes concepts and manages his team, among other things. Guillaume, “y goal on a time.” When he’s not at work, he spends time at his field in the north with his bow. His youthful looks disguise his experience, but when he pulls out an 80s reference, you realize he’s at least 10 years older than you thought.

Hochelaga Manager

Morgan

Morgan’s a rare specimen: half athlete-without-limits, half “don’t-touch-my-Black-Lotus.”
They can crank out 350 push-ups during a shift, then pull out a Magic deck on their break. Just the right amount of chaos, lovable all the time.
