What's Bouldering?
Bouldering is a form of climbing done on shorter walls—about 10 to 15 feet high—without ropes or harnesses. No stress though, thick crash pads on the floor are there to cushion any falls.
Bouldering is a discipline that focuses on strength, technique and creativity to solve “problems” (climbing routes). Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, bouldering offers challenges for all levels, in a friendly and motivating atmosphere.
Bonus: it’s also a great way to socialize!
Will I be able to climb?
Absolutely! Climbing is an activity accessible to everyone, whatever your age, fitness level or experience. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, we have routes to suit every level.
Our teams are there to support you and give you advice if necessary. And the best part? You don’t need superhuman strength to get started. Climbing is all about technique, and best of all, it’s for everyone!
What do I need to climb?
To climb, here’s what you need:
- Sportswear (tops are mandatory)
- Indoor shoes
- Your personal chalk bag
No gear? No stress. We’ve got everything you need on-site or in our online shop—with options for every budget. And if you don’t have climbing shoes or chalk, no worries—we rent them right here at the gym.
Can I bring my children?
Rules and ratios
- Mandatory supervision: All children must be supervised at all times.
- Adult supervisor: The supervisor must be at least 18 years old.
- Under 7: Children must remain one arm’s length away from their supervisor at all times.
- Safe behaviour: No running or playing on the mattresses.
- Training room : Access forbidden to under 14s.
Monitoring ratios
- Under 7 years old: 1 child per supervisor (who does not climb).
- 7 to 10 years old: 2 children per supervisor (who may climb).
- 11 to 13 years old: 3 children per supervisor (who may climb).
Important
All minors must have a consent form completed by a parent or legal guardian online prior to arrival.
Do I need to train to be a good climber?
The best way to become a better climber? Climb. Most of your progress, especially early on, will come from improving your technique. Climbing is already a full-body workout on its own.
But if you want to level up, build finger or core strength, or stay injury-free, complementary training can help. And don’t worry, we’ve got everything you need for that at Bloc Shop. 💪
